Tour Guides
Education is at the heart of our Society. We consider it an honor to introduce
both tourists and residents to the grand legacy of Niagara Falls history.
During the warm months, our members volunteer their time and knowledge
to guide visitors and locals alike around the city's downtown, describing the
amazing adventure of settlement, industry and tourism that blossomed here.
Our current walking tour is entitled, "Powerful People, Powerful Places." We
invite you to join us, June through October. (Select "Tours" on our menu for
the current schedule, or inquire at the Visitor Center at 10 Rainbow Blvd.)
But giving the tour is not enough. To ensure we can continue the tours, the
Society grows the cadre of tour guides through our annual 6-class training
course, led by a professional facilitator. Through participatory activities and
expert presentations, our trainees not only learn the content of our tour, but
also the techniques they will need to support any group they may be asked to lead.
